The ultimate forest retreat, the only one of its kind in Knysna with six superbly equipped log cabins tucked away in the Knysna River Valley.


A tranquil experience for the discerning.
Old Drift is set on 49 hectares of privately owned nature reserve.

Each of the log cabins offer privacy and has its own special place. Some surrounded by trees, others with magnificent views across the valley. Enjoy bird watching, paddling a canoe, river swimming, and fishing or play golf nearby. Superb escape for honeymooners or the nature loving family, an exceptional getaway.

6 Log cabins. Serviced daily. Children under 13 / babies welcome.

Lodges

The lodges are set apart so as to afford solitude and privacy.

Two of the two-bedroom lodges are higher in the valley and have stunning views of the river. Each Lodge has it's own unique garden with braai ( BBQ ), electric lantern and garden dining. The third is closer to the river with views across the river. The three, three bedroom lodges are close to the river and are surrounded by the indigenous forest at the lower end of the valley.

Lodge No. 2
Sleeps 4. Lounge, open plan kitchen.
Bath and separate shower. Main bedroom ( queen sized bed )
opening on to timber deck with magnificent view across river,
( approximately 50m away ) and gardens. 2nd bedroom: bunk beds.
Braai ( BBQ ) on lawn below lodge. Open fireplace. Fans in Summer.

Lodge No's 3 & 4
Sleeps 4. On the hillside of the forested valley with truly beautiful views across the valley and the river. Lounge, open plan kitchen with bar counter, all opening on to large timber deck as does the main bedroom ( queen sized bed ). 2nd bedroom: twin beds. Bathroom ( bath and hand shower ) etc. Garden: braai ( BBQ ), hot & cold shower. Electric heating and open fireplace. Fans in Summer.

Lodge No's 5 & 6
Sleeps 6. De luxe spaciousness. Further down the valley in the indigenous bush and trees and closer to the river. Three bedrooms: main bedroom ( queen sized bed ). 2nd & 3rd bedrooms with twin beds in each. Bathroom ( bath and hand shower ) etc. Dining room, lounge, kitchen open plan with double doors on to large sheltered timber deck looking onto private lawn and braai( BBQ ) area. Garden: braai (BBQ), hot & cold shower. Electric heating and open fireplace. Fans in Summer.

Lodge No. 7
Sleeps 6. Double storey and two bathrooms. Upstairs: main bedroom
( queen sized bed ) with bathroom and separate shower. Lounge, dining
room, open plan kitchen all opening on to sheltered deck which looks out through the trees across the river. Downstairs: ( outside entrance )
2nd & 3rd bedrooms with twin beds in each, and shower bathroom.
Private lawn and braai ( BBQ ).
Electric heating and open fireplace. Fans in Summer.
