Ubuntu Garden Route Retreat is in Rondevlei (approximately 25 km from George) near Wilderness on the Garden Route just off the N2 on the seaside of the highway in close proximity to several beaches and central to numerous activities.

The self-catering lodges are situated on a protea farm in a pine forest, which is undergoing total indigenous restoration to the flora and some species of fauna. There is a restaurant for bed and breakfast accommodation and for conferencing.

Enjoy a dip in our lovely salt chlorinated swimming pool or tan alongside it on a large grassed area overlooking the forest and protea field. For those who wish to hibernate and enjoy movies or sport from the luxury of your couch, the units are equipped with some DSTV channels and M-net.

Fresh garden salads and herbs are available in season from the farm vegetable patch and there are supermarkets close by for all your grocery needs. There is a large open-air boma for outdoor barbeques and entertaining. If you do not feel like cooking there are several restaurants nearby.

Ubuntu Garden Route Retreat is the ideal location for those who wish to have privacy and tranquillity, but have easy access to various places and activities in the Garden Route area from Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, through to Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Stormsriver. There are wonderful walks and bird watching opportunities. For privacy and something different it is ideal for honeymooners. It is well situated for easy access to numerous P.G.A. registered golf courses.

Large Self-Catering Lodges - Sleeps 4 to 6 maximum.
All lodges have fully equipped kitchens with microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, Dstv/M-net. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a sturdy “state of the art” double sleeper couch in lounge. The lodges comprise of two bedrooms with a bathroom and toilet and a separate large shower & W.C. Each lodge has a private wooden deck with a view overlooking the forest. Weber barbeque facilities are available on the deck. Linen and towels provided but not swimming towels (please bring your own).

Forest Rondavel - Sleeps 2
Self-catering thatch Rondavel - sleeps two. Open plan cottage – shower only. Fully equipped kitchen: with microwave, double hot plate and oven, small fridge/freezer and Dstv/Mnet. Open barbeque facility available on the patio overlooking the forest. Linen and towels provided but not swimming towels (please bring your own).

Eating out
Ubuntu is close to a wide selection of Restaurants, Coffee shops, Pub & Grills, Pizzerias and Farm stalls.
On Saturday mornings, the locals gather at the Sedgefield Farmer's Market "Wild Oats" just outside of Sedgefield on the N2, where farmers from the area sell their farm products direct to the public - come early and make a morning of it.
