A warm welcome awaits you at Simonsvlei International, situated in one of the premium wine producing regions of the Western Cape.

Set in the picturesque Paarl valley, against the foothills of the magnificent Simonsberg mountain, the cellar also offers a view of Paarl mountain, the second largest granite outcrop in the world. This mountain is famous for three enormous rocks, the age estimated at around 500 million years.

Founded in 1945, Simonsvlei became the first local co-op to transform into a streamlined company with a vision to produce quality wines at affordable prices. This spirit of innovation continues today in the wines of Simonsvlei – now firmly established as one of South Africa’s leading wine producers and exporters.

Our Wines

The range of soil types and topography have proved ideal for the production of a wide selection of premium cultivars, and a variety of wines – from delicate dry whites to fine full-bodied reds and rich dessert wines. Simonsvlei has indeed capitalised on the full potential of the area to produce wines to suit every palate and pocket.

We produce three wine ranges at Simonsvlei.

Hercules Paragon This range was launched in 1998. These wines are produced in small quantities from only the highest quality fruit from specific vineyards. Since its launch it has been received with much acclaim both locally and internationally.

Simonsvlei Classic This is our flagship range and offers high quality wines and cultivar blends, produced from a variety of noble cultivars.

Simonsvlei Lifestyle This range is tailor-made for easy-drinking and offers excellent value-for-money wines.

Simonsrood and Simonsblanc This classic couple both have a distinctive label featuring Oom Sarel Rossouw, the man who started the winemaking process at Simonsvlei in 1945 and whose spirit of innovation is still reflected in all our wines. These wines are easy-drinking for all occasions.

Restaurant

Complete your winelands experience with a visit to the Restaurant at Simonsvlei, where you will be treated to a choice of traditional Cape cuisine and Simonsvlei wines at excellent prices. The restaurant is fully licensed and open for lunch seven days a week. The special Sunday buffets are not to be missed!
