Kanonkop Guest House is
situated just outside of Knysna town central, about 5 minutes from the
waterfront, not far from the N2 and is very well signposted.
The Conyers Family – Dad Chris, Mom Sue and Sons, James
and Mark, run this exquisite new guesthouse. The guesthouse has four
bedrooms, each individually appointed by award-winning South African
designers.
Suites
The Paradise Suite certainly lives up to its name. The
room is upstairs in a separate building, adjacent to the family’s home, and
the views from the private wooden deck are out of this world. The luxurious
king-size double room has under floor heating, large hand-made paddle fans
and a large en-suite bathroom with oversized bath (with incredible views!)
and shower with towel heater rails. The rooms have the finest quality crisp
new white bedding and large fluffy towels.
Small touches like incense, candles, mini sewing kits,
bath products, bathrobes, slippers, handmade soaps etc. add to the
experience. You’ll also find a drawer filled with thoughtful extras such as
mosquito repellant, mats & electric burner, a pair of binoculars, hairdryer
etc. For guest convenience there is an electronic safe in the cupboard.
All guests receive a bottle of wine/champagne on
arrival.
Breakfast is served in the
garden lounge below the Paradise Suite. The room has a small kitchen, with
fridge (filled with drinks), microwave and kettle, so guests can make
themselves tea/coffee anytime. There is also a dining room table with
lovely view of the garden and lagoon, which leads onto a small lounge with a
comfy couch, TV, CD player and plenty of books to read. From the lounge,
double doors lead out to the swimming pool and back garden.
While guests are asleep, a
cold breakfast is laid out in the kitchen/dining room, so that when you’re
ready you can start a sumptuous and leisurely breakfast. The cold breakfast
includes fruit salad and yoghurt, fresh breads and cheeses, croissants,
toast and jams, cereal, tea, coffee and fruit juice. A hot breakfast of
your choice is also served.
The Sivuyile and No Matata Suites
are large and luxurious and open out onto a wooden sundeck. These queen-size
double rooms overlook the pool, garden and Knysna Lagoon in the distance.
They have the same décor and en-suite bathroom as
the Paradise Suite. The bedrooms have a
seating/reading area with 2-seater couch, armchair and coffee table with
magazines and books. These rooms have their own tea/ coffee stations. These
rooms also have their own Satellite TV’s.
Sunbird is a double room
with private bathroom and overlooks the indigenous garden. The room is
situated underneath the Paradise Suite, and next to the kitchen/lounge. The
room is a bit smaller than the other rooms, and the bathroom is not en suite
(across the passage). This bathroom has a shower/ bath only but is of the
same luxurious quality as the other bathrooms.

Golf
With Knysna's temperate
climate and mild weather, golf can be enjoyed year-round. Staying at
Kanonkop Guest House offers the golfer a chance to play at a number of elite
championship golf courses in the surrounding area, at discounted rates.
Amongst these are the Fancourt, Pezula and Simola Golf Estates, which are
normally reserved for member play only.
The exclusive Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate has four golf courses,
of which three are rated in the top ten in South Africa. Staying at Kanonkop
Guest House affords guests the opportunity to play all of them.
Simola Golf and Country Estate is a new Jack Nicklaus signature course
meandering along the banks of the Knysna River. The course is pleasure to
play with it's awe-inspiring views and five different tee positions.
Kanonkop Guest House offers guests access to these wonderful courses as well
as any other courses in the near vicinity, leaving you spoilt for choice and
making for an incredible golfing holiday.
We will arrange your complete golf itinerary, from tee-off times to drinks
at the club house to a choice of caddy or cart. We will liase with you every
step of the way and, if required, will transfer you in our luxury mini-bus.
We'll fulfil all of your golfing desires making for a truly unforgettable
holiday in this spectacular part of the world.
Any bookings (restaurant,
golf etc.) will gladly be made by one of the family members and they will do
everything possible to make your Knysna experience truly memorable.

DEPOSITS
A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the stay is required to
confirm the booking
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations between 4 and 30 days prior to arrival will result in
25% of the cost of the stay being withheld.
In the event of the cancellation within 72 hours of arrival, there
will be a 100% cancellation fee of the total cost of the stay.
In the event of a premature departure we may charge for the full
extent of the stay which was originally booked and confirmed.
Payment of the deposit or pre-payment assumes unconditional
agreement to these terms.
